Today is World Water Day. The day where we all try to raise awareness of the importance of conserving our water and inspire others to take actions towards meeting our Sustainable Development Goal by 2030. We at Maryoku are very passionate about this subject and wanted to help you join our efforts by conserving water at events. Here are 5 easy ways to help conserve water at your next event.

1. Start at the beginning!

Choose a venue that takes sustainability and water conservation as seriously as you do (make this step easy for yourself by selecting those options when you do your vendor search on our website)

2. Be chill!

Chill drinks prior to the event instead of setting them in tubs of ice, offer ice upon request only

3. No bottles, no problem!

Ditch the single use water bottles! Instead set up several water stations in easy to access areas of the room (bonus sustainability tip — use compostable cups!)

4. Skip the laundry!

Forgo linens on your tables by either using wood topped tables or for a fun twist, cover tabletops with compostable paper and throw some markers for your attendees to doodle, write notes or play games during break out sessions.

5. The Power of Skipping Flowers

Cut floral arrangements use a lot of water that is then discarded. Instead try alternative centerpieces or flower pots that can be taken home by attendees or reused at another event.
